Devils Kneading Trough
On route Grd Ref: TR 0944
The spectacular wealden scenery was originally formed about 100,000 BC when upward earth movements produced a 'dome' which was subsequently eroded to create the downs. The hills are characterised by steep sided dry valleys of which the Devil's Kneading Trough is the largest and most famous.
